Thank you for accepting to take portrait

I went to a small village.
A young woman in the village hesitated getting her picture taken at first.
But once she saw her mother's pictures that I took, she entered in her house and came back with well dressed up and asked me to take picture :D
When I finished to take her pictures, another young woman waited me for picture.
I took pictures of 2nd young woman, 3rd woman asked me...

小さな村を訪れた。
若い娘さんに写真を撮らせてくださいと頼んだが、首を縦に振ってくれなかった。
しかし撮らせてくれたお母さんの写真をカメラのモニターで見ると、家の中に入りきれいに着飾って戻ってきた。
娘さんの写真を撮らせていただいていると、別の娘さんも着替てやってきた。

Living with rice

It's very beautiful scene.
How many years are they cultivating rice?
I think water and cattle manure are very importing for that durability.
If they stop their coexistence with livestock, or increase a deforestation, they will not be able to keep their rice terraces.
At that time, rice terrace becomes just "paring the earth"

この土地の人々は何百年、何千年この棚田を守り続けてきたのだろうか。
この美しい光景は、豊かな水の恵みと厩肥をもたらす家畜との共存の奇跡的なバランスによってもたらされているものだと思う。
もし過度の森林伐採や家畜の減少が進むと、棚田は地球を剥いているだけになってしまう気がした。
これからも長くこの光景が見られますように。
